Recently shot from 49 Hba1C to 59, and Cholesterol 6 and high levels of triglyceride level 11.14 - could be fasting, or too many sweets and too much wine - MBI around 28 would be interested in views of fasting diets Thanks All

That level of triglycerides (11) is... way, way above the recommended value (1.7).

A diet high in carbs can cause high triglycerides. High triglycerides are also associated with insulin resistance, so that might why your hba1c has gone up.

Fasting is not a problem.

I went from eating every 12 hours to fasting for over 20 hours a day plus having a meal replacement shake and a small meal - my HbA1c was 48 this year up from 43. I did the diet for two months.
Needless to say, I am back to my old routine when I can manage it - I think it is a bit like jetlag as all my timing is off.
Oddly my weight and waist measurement seem to be dropping faster than when on the diet.
