Hey, I'm a 27 yr old female - diabetic for 19yrs
I have got severe renal impairment due to poor control + ultimately will need kidney transplant in near future. (Hopefully a pancrease transplant too!!) I have been offered a pump by my local dept but in next few months will have to start perineal dialysis. My renal + diabetic team are also considering putting insulin into dialysis soltion.... Is there anyone else out there in same sorta situation as mysef???? Would like to hear from you!!!

hiya,
just a hello and welcome to the forum as I can't help re the dialysis.

Hi Llyons85

Another welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your kidneys etc. Hope you manage to get some answers and the treatment goes well.

Just to say Hi..

Can't help you with dialysis as the only person I know who's under gone this treatment wasn't diabetic..

Hi LLyons85, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm very sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing. I wonder if the Diabetes UK Careline service could help you find someone in a similar situation? They can be contacted using the infor on this page:

I'm not aware of any of our members in your situation, but it's quite possible someone reading this might see it and respond, or know of someone. I hope you get the double transplant soon and get a new lease on life 🙂
