Welcome to the forum and us lot. I hope you find it as good as I have found it as a great place for a laugh and allot of supporting of everything you need to know and find out.
Wow this is overwhelming this forum has made my day ☺ I'm not gonna lie I was feeling quite alone with this daunting/intriguing task I have ahead of myself but how the tables have turned!!!!...thanks guys

On 18ml lantus
And 6ml novo rapid at the moment
And also testing my blood sugar 6 times a day, it's literally been 48 hours so apologies if my type1 slang is poor I'll get there eventually

I'll be back tomorrow after visiting GP and dietition to update the thread, this is all a new language to me haha.

Thanks once again everyone
A small point I think you may be on 18 units of Lantus and 6 units of novo rapid as if you took 18ml of lantus this is 1800 units of insulin and 6ml of novo rapid is 600 units you would be very ill if not dead if you accidentally took this. Insulin units are 100th of a ml. Do not worry it takes some time getting used to it all. hope you find your feet quickly and hope to hear from you again soon

Ml v units ... a simple mistake to make at first when writing it and attempting to use the correct terminology but of course you're correct Ally - mind you 18units would be whole 6 cartridges full in a normal modern insulin syringe (they normally only hold 3ml (300 units)) - so I defy anyone to do it accidentally!

Welcome to the forum Craig. It may not feel like it now but soon you will find that all the diabetes stuff becomes second nature,

Oops

Welcome to the forum Craig, sorry about your diagnosis but you're in a good place 🙂 it can all be overwhelming but it is manageable - if you have any questions at all please do ask - there are no silly questions here 🙂

You will soon get the hang of it I'm sure.
