I now understand. If you accept that the pancreas is struggling enough to prescribe insulin, taking Glic is literally like flogging a dying horse. However I don't have a medical training.

In the end clinicians have their way of dealing with things and individuals. Acronyms abound - DNR, NBM, TATT &c &c.
I suspect attached to my notes is 'NWBA'- Not Worth Bothering About.

I sometimes think I could say about myself, BER- Beyond economic repair ?
