Hi Bobbie, welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed T2 in Novembr last year but not on meds, just diet control. First thing my GP said was cut the carbs and eat more protein. In 3 months i've lost nearly 2 stones in weight and feel better than i have for years. Its hard giving things up you are used to eating but i'm seeing the benefits. Fizzy drinks and too many carbs were my downfall i suspect. Please feel free to ask aany questions however odd or silly they may seem. The people on here are brilliant, respectful and full of encouragement. We are all here to help each other if we can with actual experiences as a lot of medical advice is conflicting it seems.
