Welcome, it will get easier gradually🙂 Have you asked your hospital if you can attend type 2 DESMOND Training course. I went on one when I was first diagnosed as initially I was T2. All the best x

Hello (Namaste!)

My username is due to an obsession with all things Nepalese! I went there in 1996 for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time, then studied the travel writing of the region at university and am off out there again for 4 weeks this summer to volunteer in a school there. Alhtough, what I am going to eat is a bit of a brain teaser as it is mainly rice.

Day 5: Blood sugar readings better today and even managed a small amount of chocolate. Am planning my eating the evening before and putting it all into the carbs and cals app on my phone so I know I am in control. Have upped the protein as I was not feeling at all well yesterday mid afternoon and hadn't eaten enough but much better today.

Had a big cry at work about it all, after a final last straw moment unrelated to the diabetes. Am feeling a bit better now and came on here for some comforting words. I know it will get easier (well I hope it will!) but it all feels a bit overwhelming at the moment. I really wish I could take some time off work to get my head round it as trying to test so much in class is difficult (I'm a teacher).

Despite eating less my weight has gone up. That doesn't seem fair.

Sorry for the ramble. Just needed to get it off my chest.

Jane
