Hi guys, I have been a type 1 for 12months now. When I first got diagnosed I wAs on top of the game, low carb diet, super readings, hba1c readings was 97 (start) 41 (current). But now I’ve slipped back into eat whatever injection now n then, because my levels were falling naturally. I actually feel c**p atm. I have family members saying I don’t have this under control. I keep waking up with high levels but are giving myself insulin. I feel down :( regards Craig.

Might be better if you start a new thread on the General board, Craig, there will be a queue of folk responding.

Welcome to the forum @CraigLucywebb

I’ve moved your post to its own thread so it gets more attention.

Sorry to hear you have been struggling. I don’t think it is that uncommon to be honest, but it is certainly something you should talk to your clinic about.

A diagnosis with type 1 (or any lib term condition) is often compared to a form of grieving, and can exhibit each of the 5 stages of grief. Not necessarily all of them, not necessarily in order and some may be revisited more than once. If you’ve not heard of the 5 stages it might be helpful to read up in them, as it may help to explain how you are feeling.

The good news is that you are aware that you are not feeling right. Which is an important first step in moving toward a better place with it.

Sorry too to hear you've been struggling. From reading other people's stories and my own experience, I know how much this disease can utterly wear you down, and how hard it is to stick to it 24/7. Never feel bad about not being able to cope, it happens to all of us. Please just remember that there's always someone you can talk to - here on the forum everyone is great and can help when you're not feeling up to it. I hope your support team, your Unit and GP are good, as they can be great people to talk to. The Diabetes UK hotline is always there too for support if you need to talk to someone trained to help.

Don't forget there's always someone that can help you 🙂
