Deffo gonna keep pushing for a pump.

Even though I havent really been told much about my diabetes deffo felt like I new more than her aha.
Ive been diagnosed for just over a month now and havent seen any professionals that have actually helped me or anything, I think its disgusting.

Zoey,
you wont get a pump from the surgery. (There's only one person pumping via a GP surgery in the UK)
Normally it is done through a hospital and a team behind you.
But you need to be up to date with carb counting and know what you are doing with insulin before you have one.
The pump only does what you tell. So you have to programe it, tell it your carb ratio, correction factor, % to increase due to high numbers or ketones, what to do for exercise or lack of, illness.
You also need to know how different food types affect you as well so you can use the different types of bolus.

So you have a steep learning curve before even thinking about a pump. 🙂
Perhaps invest in a couple of books called using insulin and also think like a pancreas. These can be found on amazon.
