Last night I met a lovely lady who was diagnosed with type 2 (but is on insulin) ten years ago. She carries a card which says "I am diabetic" with her. Only had a quick look but I think it has contact details if she is incapacitated. We were at the O2 and a staff member was removing the caps offf bottles of water before they were allowed to be brought into the auditorium. When he started removing mine, she said "She is diabetic" and I was allowed to keep my cap! She said a medial card would be useful for me in situations like that. Does anyone have one? Where did you get it? How do I go about getting one?

I know the card you mean I used to have one many years ago, it gives details how to treat an hypo and also your insulin details, you in case you need medical assistant..
 
I've still got one in my wallet from a million years ago. I've never acually shown it to anyone but, in case of an accident, it would give someone a head start with me.

Interesting that they were removing tops unless you're diabetic. I'm sure it made sense to them.🙄

My DSN gave me one when I was started on insulin..it stays in my wallet.

Same here, I was given one by my nurse when I started on insulin.
 
you could try making one for yourself on your computer then laminating it
A really good place for medi jellery is medi alert if you are on benifits its free and they have 24 hours phone lines so medical staff can call and find out your illness and meds etc you are on
