hello to all.sorry if this is the wrong place to post this? had atrial fibrillation.which led to a parital block,severly dented the memory amongst other things.now been told im type 2,just before xmas. i was callled to eye screening a while ago and now got a letter saying theres is signs of diabetes in the eyes but ok with metformin for now....but it says there is something else there and i will need to be referred to an eye clinic.anyone else had this or might know more about what they could be looking at. thanks for any replies

Welcome to the forum, Simon hg. The appointment at eye clinic will be the best source of specific information for you. Did the letter mention presence / absence of diabetic retinopathy or mention another eye condition eg glaucoma? In any case, the quicker a problem is identified, the quicker and better it can be treated.
copepod,thank you for your reply,no retinopathy of note,or nothing "referrable" but there was one "referrable condition etc,etc.so i guess the longer it takes for the clinic,MAYBE....i can assume its nothing terribly serious. no mention of any conditions in the letter,you would think they might add at least a little something,or better the devil you dont know.lol

Well - your GP will have received much the same info from the retinopathy service - however they may of course have given him MORE info in whatever format these things take between them. So - you could try asking him?
