I forgot things for a moment

My minds blank for a while

This diabetic thingummyjig

Gives my memory a trial

My head feels pretty vacant

There’s space from ear to ear

I haven’t got a clue at all

My face is paused with fear

Confusion comes a calling

My brain begins to go

I’m normally sugar levelled

Now my levels feel too low

Always keep a look out

Don’t let blood sugars drop too far

Or thought patterns have a wander

And you wonder where you are

Your bloodstream needs attention

As you fluctuate once more

Those highs and lows affect us

Of that you can be sure

Please mind those watchacallits

And what ooji flopsies do

Your days will feel much better

Without diabetic confusion too

If words are coming out wrong

And the brain fog is up there

Address that levels issue

Now, show yourself some care
