so was in Norwich Chapelfield today, saw a diabetes uk thing had a look next thing i know this bloke is spurting about diabetes at me, saying that they need money for funding and saying about stuff which i obviously knew about. he then stopped asked if i wanted to join and asked if i knew anyone who was diabetic.
my reply was i am type 1 diabetic mate, his face was a picture.
i said i know all about this and im not signing up to pay about a fiver a month when i give money to the charity when i can. i walked away and he just kept looking at me, like he couldn't believe i was diabetic.
bahaha.
he also said the typical non diabetic thing.
'oh i couldn't do all those injections everyday, no way'
couldn't you mate? oh you'd die then, fool.

Oh dear, that was a pretty dumb thing for him to say about the injections, especially for someone trying to raise money for DUK! :D. I don't like these hard-sell fundraisers either, trying to sign you up for direct debits on the roadside.

Silly girl Estellaa, how was he to know you were diabetic? You don't look like a bit like someone with type 1 diabetes :D

Oh dear. Sounds like it's 'get as much money as you can' as the first priority, then insult people's intelligence as a backup if all else fails 🙄

People like him give Duk a bad name. Sounds like a double glazing salesman or similar :(

I hate that "I couldn't inject myself" line. I always use a similar retort to you, Estellaa - stupid idiots aren't they?!

Next time just say, 'I have the butler do them for me' :D

My response when told I don't look diabetic (I'm not thin enough apparnetly) is I am not the condition and I'm not defined by it but I do have diabetes.
