Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
hi all I was resently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes been prescribed metformin,I have gone to weight watchers for years and walk hour day usually about 10,000 steps, any help that anyone has at controlling it would be useful thank you.

Welcome to the forum @Maggie53

Well done on the walking - that should help increase your insulin sensitivity 🙂

We have a few member who have tried Weight Watchers and Slimming World with some success. It seems to be an important part of the puzzle to keep a close eye on the carbohydrate content of the plans as well as the calorie limits.

Its can be helpful to check with a blood glucose monitor immediately before eating and 2hrs later, looking for a rise of less then 2-3mmol/L. That way you end up with a play that suits your diabetes as well as your waistline.

Good luck with your efforts, and keep us posted 🙂
