A member of Diabetes UK’s Clinical Studies group wants to hear your thoughts on diabetes and day surgery (surgery where you can return home the same day).

Importantly, you don’t need to have had day surgery yourself to take part in the survey. So contributions from everyone are very welcome 🙂

He's putting together a speech to health care professionals and wants to make sure he hears from as many people as possible before then.

Any thoughts you can share will help health care professionals understand diabetes better, and hopefully lead to better care.

Done.

I couldn't do it because it asks how long have you had diabetes and I've now been told I'm only pre-diabetic. I feel left out! 😱

Anyways with my readings I think I am diabetic. I've gone from one extreme to the other, disbelief, belief, confused. :D

Done - but another instance of Type 3 not getting a mention!

Once diagnosed, pre-diabetic readings after that simply mean 'well controlled' Ditto. My Hb has been out of diabetic range since dx but I'm certainly still diabetic and my meter confirms that! 😱

Done. Any chance of seeing the presentation by the Clinical Studies person when it's finished?

Done.

Hello everyone!
It's Goher here - I'm the person behind the survey which you have very kindly contributed to. Thank you very much indeed for your time to do this - it means a lot to me personally as I'm doing this as a patient volunteer. I'm hoping to get lots of responses so I can best represent what we, as people with diabetes, think in my presentation to the healthcare professionals at the meeting. I wanted to also apologise for not specifying type 3 diabetes; I'm afraid I grouped the rarer forms of diabetes under "other" without realising this may cause offence. I would not wish anyone to feel excluded. I hope you felt you could put across what was important to you despite this. I would be very happy to share the outcomes with you all - I will check with the DUK team how best to do this.
Thank you again for all your support - I only hope I can represent just as well! Very best to you all, Goher
