Diabetes and cataract treatment

I'm assuming that the high bg was the reason although there could have been other reasons for cancellation.

Mine went up a bit - but I said well that's hardly surprising, is it, considering the stress and Nil by mouth since late last night! and that I'd soon get it back down after, and I'd rather be a bit higher right now since I could relax knowing I wouldn't suddenly go hypo, and thought that should please them too, actually! LOL

Seen my doctor today and my recent HbA1c test was 58 which according to the conversion chart she has given me equates to 8.5 of the finger prick test. She is now going to write to the chief surgeon and hopefully get some joy. According to press reports the NHI reject/postpone one cataract referal in every four to save money. So it could be the surgeon found an excuse to drop me on that occasion. I have to stick with my current medication for diabetes. Watch this space.
