Dexcom One + v Libre 2+

So next question - how does it work if you do get approved for one? Do you just get a normal script and take it to a pharmacy or do you order from the manufacturer? Just interested in the mechanics.
If your GP is doing the approving, then it's a normal script through your chosen pharmacy. Normally GPs only approve on a repeat monthly basis.

I was getting the original Dex One from my GP as a replacement for Libre 2; so monthly repeats. But my Hospital approved my G7 and the Hospital have a central contract with Dexcom. So the Hospital set up a 3 monthly provision direct from Dexcom, which (so far) has run on auto-repeat with nothing more for me to do. I am told in advance that my next delivery is happening and a few notifications later a DPD parcel arrives. I did get one overlap pharmacy delivery of Dex One, which was non-returnable and I took it to the DSN team at the Hospital, who were happy to take the surplus sensors off me.

It goes on your repeat prescription list and you collect them from the pharmacy, when you request them..
Sounds good. Drs appt on Weds and then the DS consultant on Thurs so will raise it with one or both.

It's looking like it'll make a massive difference to my training so fingers crossed.

I've discovered there's so many watch faces with BG readings.

I've bought the whole pack from this dev and am slowly working through them to see which I like the most.

Or in my case, I’m on a “batch.” Which I order directly from the chemist every 3 weeks to process & pick up? (Month’s worth.) Sometimes they have them in stock & I can get them bagged immediately or a text that it’s ready the following day. The other stuff needs signing off with the GP, but even that has been processed within 24 hours recently. (Text notification on completion.) I always add a few days on incase of an issue.

Some work better than others? Some faces don’t allow the choice for sensor complication where I want it where others do. This is the only analog face I found that doesn’t completely obscure the reading at any one point?

Nice face. Which one is it? The pack I've bought (for a massive £6) allow complications anywhere but I like the look of yours.

This is for the Galaxy watch 4. But I just looked on my phone in “Galaxy wearable.” Called “Global goals classic?” To be fair, I tend to either use what came in the bundle or download free. Some of the freebies are not fully functional & don’t allow either G-watch wear app or Juggluco for the BG complications. This one did both.

Like this one too. Possibly not available on Garmin but I'm hunting through the various options 🙂

Main thing is I have it working and it's stable now. Took a bit of fiddling however I'm good at fiddling with tech.
Thanks. The colours can be changed too. This one was initially yellow. But I tend to go for black & white. (Same with the clock.) The only way to find out what works is by fiddling with it. Providing I have time on my hands. 😉

As an outsider and non-wearer of smart watch, it tickled me that the display components seemed to be called ’complications’, especially where they become BG Complications, which has a whole different resonance for a PWD! :D

I mean, it’s not that annoying. Set the profile up once, schedule the times for it to come on, never touch it again.
This assumes you add no more applications with notifications.
I am often adding new apps. For example, when I travel, I add the app from the airline I am flying with so I don't need to print my boarding pass. I want the notifications during my trip but not what I am asleep. Another example is adding new apps when I start a new job - I need the notifications during work hours but not when asleep. I mreed to manage this if I follow your suggestion. I could go on - my phone use is not static, it is evolving.

Think of them like a phone “widget?” You can have the weather, step counter, date, maps, compass, whatever. Like a short cut on the watch face Home Screen. Tap the “complication” it opens the app on the watch. They are just windows where you assign an at a glance readout. Some faces are more customisable than others. I’ve never been a watch wearer. Been gifted watches in the past but due to activity, break them? Which is why I have a shell case on the body & screen. I’ve already busted & replaced the original strap on this one when I fell through a laddered trap door, tearing my arm up.

It will take you about 3 seconds to add it to the exceptions list.

The overhead is not the time taken but the need to remember to do so every single time I add a new application.
Sadly, I have too many other things to remember to do and Dexcom forcing me to remember this too when they already have a solution is unnecessary.
I will forget until I am annoyingly woken in the night.

Just link it into your download and setup process of new apps. At the point that you’re downloading an app you’re already remembering that you then need to set it up eg log in etc and set up the notifications within the app, it’s really not a big deal to then add it to your custom profile.

When you’re travelling to an airport you could also just turn off silent mode and leave your phone notifications on anyway.

But WHY should I?
As @dannybgoode mentioned, Dexcom have a solution to this problem but they are being unfriendly to their customers who pay for their cheaper product when it costs no more to them.

(BTW the travel was just and example, there are many reasons for me to add a new app and I shouldn't have to come up with a different solution for everyone, especially when, for most people, the app download process is "download and use")

But WHY should I?
To have your phone work exactly how you want it to. The exact same reason that you need to use a workaround if you want libre on your watch. If you don’t want to set up a focus mode that allows apps to sound you can set up a focus mode that silences apps that you never want to hear. That way the default will be hearing new apps and hearing them will prompt you to add it to the silenced list.

To have your phone work exactly how you want it to.
Sorry, you missed my emphasis - why should it be me (and all Dexcom ONE users) who do this?
I am not asking you to explain how to work around Dexcom One's product limitation. I am expressing my frustration that the company, Dexcom, are being inconsiderate to their users.
There is no cost to Dexcom to make their "base level" product more user friendly in the same way as they have done for Dexcom 7 and by not doing so they are likely to be losing customers without the technical knowledge (or will) to make the adjustments you suggest.
Commercially, it makes no sense for a vendor to make their products unfriendly to user.

As a Product Manager, this is the sort of decisions I have to make in order to increase the possibility of the products I work with to be adopted and continue to be used when competitors (or our own products) provide a superior user experience.

All libre users that want their bg on their watch have to work around it too. It’s part of life, not sure why you’re so worked up over something you could have solved in less time than writing that message
