Had an email yesterday to tell me my subscription 3 month supply was on it's way. Was more than surprised as I knew it had run out and am waiting to see if I can have funding again. (Should know next week)

So I rang Dexcom and explained it had been sent in error..................... Their reply was it's our error so they are yours to keep, please don't send them back as we have to destroy anything that come back. I'm staggered to say the least. That's a very expensive error 😱 Gentleman I spoke to was lovely and even thanked me for my honesty.
Hopefully I will be lucky with the funding again, if not I will have to set up a direct debit to cover the years supply.

I suppose they are being ultra cautious.
Sounds as if it's the same daft system regarding prescription items that are destroyed even if returned in original unopened boxes.

Seems likely, yes. But also, from a commercial perspective it makes them seem cautious and generous. Presumably they don't make this kind of mistake very often, so when they do I'm sure it's well worth acting as they have done, even if they're allowed to take the items back and reuse them.

(There'd also be costs in getting the items back and dealing with all that (they'd want to inspect them to make sure they hadn't been opened, for one thing). Overall, it's just easier to write them off and (likely) get a little good publicity.)
