Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
A film called Derailed is on BBC1 right now.

Ive seen it before and it's really misleading about diabetes. A couple's daughter has "really bad" diabetes and is really ill. For a start she is more than old enough to test her blood sugar level.

check it out if you are bored enough :D it isn't about diabetes or anything...
Me and my mum watched it last time it was on tv - in completely different places and we ended up talking about how strange the story line was about their daughter.

I might have missed something last time though because I wasn't watching properly!

cheers katie i am that bored lol x

shall watch now

hehehehe...

Jennifer Aniston: "Diabetes?"
Clive Owen: "Yeah, Type 1, the worst kind"

:D

She needs a kidney though for some reason, hmm.

Dont worry steff, jennifer aniston was on the side of the robber - so that bit you saw didnt really happen, she is a criminal.

Somehow I managed to forget that huge twist too lol

oh right yes i switched t back as it goes it's just coming out now the plot that is

SOO unlike me to even watch a film but that had soething in it that kept drawing me back in , the end was bas another twist i did not see coming x

Yeah, it had major flaws in it but the twists kept me watching. There were quite a few!

yes thats why i kept putting ot over i was drawn into the plot lol

It's a bit like panic room, the diabetes part is a bit rubbish. From what I remember
the girl is explaining to the bad guy how to give glucogen, she was perfectly able to swallow.

I saw something a few weeks ago on channel 5 I think (enough said...) with Jodie Foster and her daughter in the film had diabetes, they were held hostage in a house and was supposed to be abit of a horror.....well, I dont know where to start! Her daughter started to go low and then started fitting (which she came out of with no intervention) and then she was asking for her injection - GASP! NO I was thinking, not your insulin! Then she has a glucose injection in her thigh, when she was talking, and to be quite honest, could have eaten or drunk something! I was getting very angry and the television!!! (but couldnt make myself turn it over?!?!) x

I think that is the film Nikki was talking about, Panic Room :D

That sounds awful, surely they must think: ok, if we are going to have a diabetic in the film we should make sure we know what we are talking about. tut.
