Depression

Hi there
Is there anyone out there,
Diagnosed six months ago, reading at 58, reduced to 53 at three months and now normal ( receptionist cannot give me the test result by ' phone and I cannot see the GP because my notes are marked no follow up needed)
Some days I wake up with the most terrible depression, no need for it, I live a charmed life with nothing to worry about only diabetes!
I had breast cancer five years ago and and am about to finish a course of hormone chemotherapy and wonder if that could be the reason but some times I feel so low all I want to do is just sit all day.
Does anyone else suffer the same way?

Hi,
I don't know if anyone has already made this suggestion, but depression can be brought on or made worse from drinking alcohol, if you do consume any alcohol, try giving it a miss for a few weeks, see if that help. Otherwise, self help books can be helpful, mindfulness, meditation, doing activities you enjoy or used to enjoy, chatting with people, watching movies that you enjoy, getting out of bed as soon as you wake rather than staying in bed for longer.

Best wishes...

Thanks everyone for the ideas and suggestions.
Feeling much better today and my blood sugar is a lot lower as well now the angsiety has gone.
What I will do is to get Saga to book in for me and email me the boarding cards.
I can then forward them to my son to print off.
Simples once the panic subsides, I hate anything unexpected or last minute, that's the problem.
I never used to be like this, spent most of my life "kick starting jumbo jets" I hate this growing old business

Brilliant! Well done for working through the challenges and coming up with such a good solution @JMyrtle 🙂

Hope the holiday is everything you could hope for and you rediscover the place you knew.

Thanks Mike
Hope to rediscover the friends I knew as well
I had a dear Maltese couple as friends going back to my first marriage but we lost touch a few years ago.
Again my son had the bright idea of finding their son on Facebook and asking him to ask his parents to get in touch with me.
Hopefully we will be meeting up next weekend, there will be a lot to talk about!

What a lovely opportunity! So nice to catch up with old friends. I bet it will feel as if no time has passed at all.

I'm able to see my hospital results on-line. I don't know if that is uniquely a Scottish thing (Scottish Health Boards?). I've got a log in and password and can see all my details as well as useful (ish) info. GP results are not there though. I don't use it that much but it is there if I need it.

Is that mydiabetesmyway?
