I thought I'd ask this question in here as I dm tying myself in knots trying to figure things out.
Before my type 2 diagnosis I was already on medication for anxiety and depression which is managed by my GP. I'm on Venlafaxine XL 75 mg which I've been on since 2019. I am currently off work due to work related stress. I also have moderate to severe osteoarthritis in my knees so struggle with exercise.
On diagnosis my HbA1C was 52 and I was started on Metformin SR 500 mg, Ramipril 2.5 mg and Atorvastatin 20 mg. My blood pressure is up at around 144/100.
I have found I am really struggling with fluctuations in my mood. My blood glucose is stable at an average of 6 and fortunately I haven't experienced any obvious side effects to the new medication. I have read that at least some of this medication can affect the effectiveness of some antidepressants.
Has anyone else had similar experiences or do I just need to cut myself some slack as I've got quite a lot going on?
Thanks if you've managed to read this far!
