Dead Weight - BBC Radio 4 Drama (14 episodes, 15 min each)
They're talking details about diabetes. Today one character was explaining keytonitis (don't know how accurate it is). Another mentioned their diabetic uncle. Who, if he had too much carbs, it made his diabetis "flare up", he got sleepy, thirsty and needed to go to the toilet a lot.
It's on at 10:45am & 7:45pm. We can also listen online or using the radio iplayer.

Val McDermid's crime series proves that losing weight is murderous. But who would want to kill Jean Cranberry and why?

This fourth series is led by lovers DCI Alma Blair and CSM Jo Black, played by Julie Hesmondhalgh and Jane Hazlegrove. Our team sets out to discover what coated the doughnuts that appear to have asphyxiated the victim and question whether Jean's diabetes played a part in her death.

Thanks for flagging this Ralph 🙂 Val is normally very meticulous in the accuracy of her plot details, but it might depend on what sources she's relying on for the information!

Oh, the murder victim (? I believe) was diabetic, and was found with doughnut in her mouth (covered in arsnick, a white power like flower). There's something about a home baker and weight loss scheme/groups (?). I missed the first episode where I hope they introduce the setup as I may go back to it. This is what is being investigated.

BBC Radio 4 has had some good dramas in the past. Some of them can be downloaded from their podcast past. Other recent ones can be found on Radio iPlayer. Some older ones can be found repeated on Radio 4 extra (digital only).
