I went to bed last night with a reading of 6.4, this was 2 hrs after final food intake. On rising this morning it is 15?
Question is should I eat or wait until this reading has reduced?
Thanks

I inject my insulin and any correction and then wait until my levels come down to at least 8, otherwise it takes all day to get back into range. Sometimes I can be waiting 2 hours or more for levels to come down but if I don't they will just go higher still.

Do you have a Libre or other sensor to keep a close eye on your levels or are you relying on finger pricks? If finger pricks then do test regularly if you are waiting.

The rise maybe DP but it may also be insufficient insulin
- your basal dose may not be large enough.
- your evening meal may have taken longer then 2 hours to digest so you may have needed extra bolus. I try to leave 4 hours after eating before going to bed.

I recommend a Libre trial (if you cannot get them on the NHS) to see what is happening overnight. It will give you more insight than finger pricks.
