Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
This forum is as daunting as my diabetes! Diagnosed at the age of 56 with Type 3c after severe acute necrotising pancreatitis. No education just sent out of hospital on insulin. Still a lot of trial and error going on but feel I do ok most days but there is room for improvement, hopefully. Anyway, hello to everyone on this forum. Hope we can help and support each other. Nice to meet you all.

Hi there Janey and welcome to the forum. 🙂 There are a few 3c's on here who will probably make themselves known at some point. I'm still using trial and error myself. :D

Hi Janey
Nice to meet you. As Matt says, there are a few people with this type of diabetes on the forum so I am sure you will get some helpful support and will be able to share info which is of specific relevance to you.
Please don't feel daunted as we are a friendly bunch!

Hello Janey, welcome to the forum.

Sorry you're feeling so daunted, but as the others have already said, there are some very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people here, so they'll certainly help you along.

"Trial and error", that's me too, always learning.🙂

Hi Janey, welcome to the forum and the Creonista Club (I assume). That's an incredibly painful and dangerous way to join the diabetes forum, but hey ho, you've made it. The first thing to say is make sure that 3c isn't on your GP record. You're are Type 1 for GP purposes. If you should ever need or want an insulin pump, you won't get one if you are anything but a Type1.

Any concerns or questions, just ask. There are a few of us on the forum with a very tatty pancreas, or none at all. It does have particular problems over and above standard T1. I was T1 for years before my pancreas decided to call it a day, so it was a bit easier for me. But don't worry too much, if we can do it, you can too. We'll guide you.
