So, I made a tweak last week to my diabetes web app.
After spending significant effort trying to get my blood sugar shown reliably on a smartwatch, I finally abandoned the idea. Apart from the fact that the reading was not always current, I found the data difficult to see without my glasses, especially in sunlight.
While the Dexcom G7 app shows the blood sugar and trend pretty clearly, it makes it difficult to see how old the latest reading is or what the difference is between the current and previous readings.
My web app is synced with the Dexcom Share server so I revamped the app home page to show this data clearly in a nice big font size and on a white background that is easy to see on my iPhone even in sunlight.
The attached screenshot is of an old Samsung phone I repurposed to let my see everything at a glance when I am at home. At night, I keep it charging on my bedside table with the lid of the case closed. To check my latest reading I just flip the lid open. Works a treat…
