Aha! So I'm not the only one who thinks 'diabetic hotels' (luxurious of course! 😉) where the staff do all the cooking, carb counting, dose / correction suggestions etc & we could just kick back & Really relax for once would be a good thing then?! 🙂 Maybe there's a niche market there lol...

Twitchy, these would be hotels for just the diabetes.
I still need to figure out how I'd seperate it from our bodies but I think it could work

Hahahah!!! Well I thought if we treated our D's nicely they won't ever want to come back!

Oooohhh luxury hotel with a spa, mmmmm relaxing!

The type that looks after you & no stress. I enjoy camping cos i can please myself. Last year i went to pamplona in northern spain on motorbike. I lost my mate coming down the french roads & couldnt get him on the phone. Plan B was to do the 200mile to pamplona. It was getting on for about 4.30pm. A bike headlight is not very good in the dark. Got there before 11pm to put tent up in the dark. Was excellent holi but would like to be spoilt now & again ! 😉

When I'm prime minster, I'm opening diabetes camps so we can send diabetes away for weeks at a time.

When you open up that diabetes camp Laura, please let me know because I want to make a long term booking for mine :D

Big hugs to you Laura.

I've had D for 2 weeks and I'm already bored of it :(

Is the pump attached to your body ? xx

It's my 10 year anniversary on Saturday which is depressing.

The pump is attached to the body by a cannula, I get my pump 3 September which is the day before my 26 birthday, I'm looking forward to having a better quality of life from it.

How are you feeling after being diagnosed?

Already with you on that cat! I'm booking Tom (my diabetes) a 1 way ticket

Wowsers....

I cant imagine how hard it must be but try and imagine all the positives rather than the negatives. Think about how well you have done over the years 🙂

So is it a permanent thing ? how does the cannula stay in ? Xx

I'm ok, my levels have started to come down which is good, just trying to get the hang of what to eat etc xx

I know, living with it isn't easy. It will be my longest relationship ever.

As long as I have no problems with the pump & do everything right, I should stay on it.
Cannulas are changed every 2-3 days so no more needle pricks 5 times a day!!

Are you carb counting or just on set doses? Which insulin you on?

Sorry to hear you have been feeling low Laura, there seems quite a lot of it about at the moment. Probably with your diaversary looming it isn't helping.

Still, there was sunshine outside today. Take heart at that. Better things are just around the corner!

Keep your chin up, just remember we are all here to help you when you want to let off steam.

Work tomorrow??? Lucky girl!!

Keep smiling.
Tina xx

Sadly work tomorrow & I'm still feeling poorly :(

I think ill be up most the night as I can hear things in my home & when I go look there is nothing there but the noise is now in the living room.

I want to celebrate my diversary but I don't think there is a lot to celebrate.

Laura, chin up girl!! Hope you feel better in the morning. Are the noises you hear in your house just the normal creaks and cracks of the house settling because of heat etc? I hate that it used to make me jumpy. I'm used to it now.

You should celebrate your diversary by telling Tom in very strong words what you think of him!!!:D then go and buy yourself a nice new handbag.....that's what I would do :D x

Me too, I've had this bug since 28 March so I'd of hoped it would of cleared up.

Some of the noise is house noise but it sounds like someone else is here with me, I live in a first floor flat so I know there is noone here but I'm getting creeped out & it's not downstairs coz they are shouting at each other again!

I was going to make a cake for work but they are so insensitive about my diabetes, I might made one & let Tom have it as long as he naffs off for a month or 2!

Cat come on it has to be heels THEN handbag :D

I went out for lunch with my friend and her daughter (my god daughter) last week. My god daughter had THE handbag which I needed. So we all went for lunch, I told my diabetes to get stuffed and had desert too!! :D then I went and bought the handbag. Laura sadly my days of heels is over. I remember the time I would get to work at 7am and was on my feet from then till 3pm, all done in heels. I'd keel over in them now!! Lol x

I'm 6 foot tall so I don't need heels but they are so pretty!

Oooohhh what was THE handbag? I'm now using my bright pink with skull heads handbag I got last September (well it's spring so we need colour!)

Mmmmm desert, I fancied a creme egg mcflurry the other day but didn't know if they put carbs & cals etc on mcflurry's so gave it a miss

Ah I see, I am 5 foot 5. I always thought I was 5' 6", then when I joined my surgery last year they measured me and I am an inch shorter than I thought I was....gutted!!!! Lol :D I do have a 'thing' for pretty sandals though. I have 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of boots and loads of sandals. I hate wearing anything on my feet so as soon as the weather starts getting milder on go the sandals and they stay put as long as possible. I made it to October last year. My handbag was from a shop called Domo. It was from the It Luggage collection called a nappa bag. Lots of pockets and sections in it. I don't carry much in a handbag but I do like it orderly!!! Main thing is it fits my diary, Kindle and purse. I have a nice pink Prada handbag that I've never used. It's a kind of bag you could only really take to a wedding or special occasion. Oh what I'd give for a McFlurry!!!
