so I take dapagliflozin daily for T2, one of the side effects is frequent urination, I've taken this now for two years. The past 3 weeks the urge to go has increased massively, no increase in thirst or anything... now I work and can't go to the loo every 5 mins but I'm finding if I don't I'm getting pain in lower abdomen and around hip area... I've got docs Monday but wondering if anyone else has had this

I wonder if you might have a UTI, I believe there is a greater risk of them on gliflozins because of the excess glucose being flushed out through the kidneys :( @Stitch147 is on empagliflozin, she may have some experience to share.

Sounds like a UTI to me. Yep, because of how the Gliflozins work you are at more risk of getting them. Ive had a couple of UTI's since being on them. Best get it checked, might be worth doing it before Monday.

I would agree with Alan and Stitch's comments, as with any increase in glucose in the urine, bugs just love the extra sugar.
