Hi everyone it has been a long time since I have lasted posted on here.

What level mmol would need immediate medical assistance or does it vary person to person?

My last reading about a hour ago was at 32 mmol and one of my friends suggested that I phoned for an ambulance, but I don't feel like I am going to be passing out or anything.

Any advice?

i asked my diabetic nurse about this as i was hitting 27 and she told anything from 30 and above. if you can call 111 for advice or if very worried then think about a+e

Wash your hands well. Do another test. If you have a way to test your ketones do that too. If it’s still in that ballpark get seen.

Retest as suggested above but if you genuinely are 32 I’d be phoning for support. Please let us know how you are.

I‘m not sure it’s a simple as a single number. In my first year on an insulin pump I has some infusion set failures which led to rapid forays into the 20s, and then back down in a few hours. I don‘t readily produce ketones, so I felt quite safe just to wait for it to resolve without feeling the need to call anyone.

But if those levels were maintained for any length of time, I would have been more worried.

What you need to work out, really, is what is causing those levels!
