am gonna be going to a Dafne course this coming Tuesday just wondered if anyone else has been on one and what to expect am hoping I will be able to get a pump as I have no hypo awareness and the day before the course I have my retinopathy yearly eye exam so will be able to share with others what my results were just hope the course is worthwhile

Hi sunny🙂
I found the course very beneficial ( my local equivalent is called something different) it's great to hear from you again. How are you keeping?

Oh, I need to tell you this, I'm trying to get a pump too, mainly due to working night shifts. My workplace are very supportive. I know it is the best solution for me.

Hiya Sunny. 🙂 Good to have you back. I haven't done a DAFNE but ev1 on here seems to think they're excellent. Hope you enjoy it and meet some interesting T1s. 😛 Good luck getting the pump!

Hello Lucy Am good thanks how are you ? I am actually looking forward to the course and it will make a change talking to type one diabetics

Unfortunately I've got sickness and a cold, so feel a bit rough 😱

I did DAFNE a few years ago and found it very useful in terms of having a week to focus on sorting out ratios with input from others. What was not useful to me was the insistence that with type 1 we can eat anything as long as we cover it with insulin or the fact that post meal spikes were ignored as long as levels came back down. It might have changed since I did it but I would definitely recommend it anyway.

Yeah I hope they don't lead me astray with there feedback I have been told by my diabetes team that levels will go up after eating and they say that's okay long as after 4 hours it's back in range so they even said it can be abit high even after 2 hours

Hi Sunny, I did DAFNE just over a year ago and found it extremely helpful. It was also great to meet other local Type 1s. I have since got a pump, partly as a result of doing the course.

Absouletely I feel I need it as am unpredicable in my daily routine and the pump will give me more room for error
