Relationship to Diabetes

Is anybody interested in a meeting in or near keswick in a week or so ? There have been a few posts from that area and i know its a good place for a good night out. I have just came back today and been canoeing & on m/bike. Not as fit as i used to be (getting a few candles burnt now 48). 🙂 How about sat 13 aug 🙂
 
Hope you get some takers Hobie. I'd love to come but it's a bit tricky to get to from Hampshire! Derwent Water is my favourite lake and I used to go up there quite a bit, camping in Borrowdale - beautiful! 🙂
 
Can do, not sure how many others are up in this neck of the woods...think it was only us two actually discussing the falling off Latrigg hehe. But yeah, can meet up sometime either with bikes or drinks :D
 
Cumbrian Meet (keswick)

Thanks nyadak & northy, i also love the Lake Dist for getting out in the fresh air and having a good time. so far its 2 ! Was going to meet in a pub not Scarefell Pike (this time ! anything possible !) Its good to talk about things that get on ya --------. Grandma from workington how are you fixed for this sat to talk over your pump issues ? 😱

A weeks notice for an official Diabetic meet is a bit short and I'd imagine for most too. The midlands meet in B'ham is in mid Sept and that has been arranged for a while now and it gives people time to arrange. I can't make that date as it is short notice but good luck with your meeting...🙂

That's very true, but certainly no bad thing if people are arranging more ad hoc meet ups 🙂 Always good to chat with fellow diabetics, whether about diabetes or not - by that I mean that the diabetes can be unspoken because you know the others 'get it' 🙂

Oh no, of course not Alan! I did not mean that quick planned meetings shouldn't be done. I just felt that if HOBIE felt there wasn't much response then that could be a reason why...if I could have made it, or more notice then I woulda been there for sure!!🙂
 
Doesn't seem to be many Hobie (well just us two), but if you fancy meeting up still on Sat can do if you like and grab a drink and a natter somewhere? always got a load of questions on pumps and constantly curious on the things (till I get one). So if you fancy meeting up still always good to have a chat about things.

Just to be picky, there is only one official lake in the Lake district (Bassenthwaite) and only one lake in Scotland (the Lake on Monteith), Derwent Water is a water, Windermere is a mere! etc.

I got all excited, misread the title as Caribbean meet, now that would be worth making an effort for!.

Isn't that last one a bit pedantic, given that "mere" is an archaic word for "lake"? 😉

When I was in the Lake District (1994, I think it was), there led away from Windermere a clearly-signposted "Permissive Footpath"! 😉 (Or was it "Suggestive Footpath"?) (Is it still there?
 
Cumbrian meet in Keswick

Hi vicsetter i have "jet ski ed the full lengh of loch lomond (standy up ski there and back) and peddled all the way round loch tay and what a lovely place ! Through killin. Nearly as good as KESWICK.
 
Hi Hobie, just to put the record straight, I did go to school in Barrow-in-Furness and my great gran lived at Crosthwaite.

Well, we don't have any ponds...loads of tarns though. And isn't Loch Ness, well a Loch, and really just a crack across Scotland from the North Sea which got Inverness stuck in the way? 😛

Good sport ! How about "SWEENEYS" in keswick 8ish on sat nt ! Nyadach have a look at private message. sweeneys, 20 lake rd, keswick ,ca12 5bx Vic your a bit of a lad ! misiles and all ! Shame you cant come to keswick. Look for a good looking guy with a tash ! (alright a reasnoble looking guy with atash and slightly reseding fore head.alright boldy) 🙂

sorry but just put compuper on at 1.25 today and just see this about the meet. I would have come as I am on my own today and it would have been good to chat. Sorry about the only weekend that the grandkids are not hear it would have been good to get away on my own.
Havent had computer on for a few days there has been a lot going on at home.Hubbys through at Ennerdale today and I would have loved to come to meet you.

Just seen its at 8ish tonight so will se if i can get there its not that fat to Keswick from hear hope to see you then

just talked to hubby and we will get there hope its still on dont know ware SWEENEYS is but will find it Keswick not that big a place.
