Hi @Chronic_warrior88, welcome to the club🙂

Yup, I developed diabetes (originally diagnosed as T2 because I was 43) followed three months later by UC. Because I had total colitis, with all the colon affected, my diabetes was well controlled because food didn’t hang on long enough to get absorbed, and most of my gut biome- that’s the bacteria that do all the work in the gut - were now living in sewers. Anyway, with various potent medications, I escaped the total colectomy, but the diabetic control went haywire, the only way to control it was by not eating. That was until the consultant (first time I saw him) told me I was Type 1, just like my mum, who he also treated.

So here I am, 23 years later with no diabetes complications, and the last UC flare up was 3+ years ago. Currently just take a couple of Asacol twice a day. I’ve also developed Chronic Pancreatitis, which is sometimes associated with UC, but rarely. I like developing conditions that don’t kill you🙂
