Just eaten them. I've got to say, these are the best sweet potato chips I've ever had. They definitely crisped up more than without soaking them. So, l definitely recommend giving them a good soaking.
Mark, you have got me interested in the Air Fryer..... Is it a good alternative to deep frying but without all the oil? Being on a Ketogenic Diet I want to be very careful about what oil to use, besides, my wife would freak if I started using Lard in my deep fat fryer (like our parents used to do)!!!
I wanted to try lard in the deep fat fryer, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Our air fryer is brilliant. It's only a cheapy we got off eBay (brand new) for about £30 but it does the job. We use olive oil for the chips. Just put the chips in a bag with a bit of oil & shake them, them straight in the air fryer. Also coated them with Cajun spices.
