I miss them.

It's particularly hard when somebody at the desk next to you is troughing a bag. And you can smell them.

I miss them too! I'm definitely more a savoury fan than sweet and crisps were always my thing. I really miss them but am struggling to find a convincing alternative at the moment :(

Even a small bag of quavers is loads of carbs (which lets face it - aren't proper crisps).

I think I've had two bags of crisps in 6 months.

It's salt and vinegar I miss the most. That has to be the best flavour ever.

Argh!

Exactly.....Quavers are more like a bag of air! 🙂 I made the mistake of thinking that things like Snack a Jacks and such would be better but sadly not :(

Pork crunch (as in the puffy ones like Quavers) would do the trick and are great for dipping in hummus too (if that's your thing).

Otherwise, kale crisps are another option (although not as nice in my opinion).

Courgette crisps work too, if you can get the dehydration right.

I've always been able to give or take crisps, so never miss them. I do miss cherry bakewells, though.:D

Flippin 'eck Mark why oh why did you have to go there lol !! 😉:D I love a cherry bakewell haha. I don't know about popcorn John sorry, personally I'm not keen on it 🙂

I have Pom Bears occasionally...good for dipping...no too much effect on BG's...but may not suit everyone...have had the odd bag of crisps when necessary...but amazingly can leave them alone for weeks after that.

I do like Pom Bears so will give them a go, thanks Bubbsie! Love the dog pic by the way....super cute! 🙂

I still have crisps, ive given a hell of a lot of things up food wise, but I'm NOT giving up my daily packet of crisps!

I have the occasional pack of pom bears they are not too bad carb wise. But I have never really been a crisp eater would rather have a bar of chocolate x and I don't mean the good for you dark stuff x lol x

Ive always prefered savoury stuff. I tend to go for multipack bags as they are smaller. A few years ago, before I lost 7 stone in weight, I could quite happily sit there and eat an entire multipack in one sitting!!!

I've tried the pork crunch - but it tastes nasty to me.

Kale chips sound nice, I will keep an eye out for them. I had some seaweed crisps (only 24cal a box), but they were bleah!

9.6 cals for a 15g bag. That's more like it. Thanks I might try a bag and see how I get on.

I don't think you can buy ready-made kale crisps - they're a bit fragile and would turn to dust in a packet. You make them yourself - tear up some kale, sprinkle with oil and the flavouring of your choice (parmesan works well) and put in a warm oven for 10-15 minutes (and then keep checking every minute as they go from 'nice and crispy' to 'vegetably charcoal' in about 30 seconds)

Sounds exactly the same as me Stitch....and I don't mean a 6 pack either! 😳

I have done small cauliflower florets tossed in a poly bag, with seasoning and spices ( I used a sort of Cajun concoction), then into a low-ish oven until they went through the cooked minutes to the crispier stage. They were delicious, but impossible to save for another time.

I'n not certain they would keep well anyway, but once out of the oven they seemed to disappear! They're also very good for dipping or scooping, and depending upon the dip or salsa they spices could easily be modified. A bit of Parmesan might hasten the crispy stage.

Just give these things a whirl. There's little to lose.
