I'm visiting my consultant today and i'm wondering what sort of questions i could ask her? my control is OKAY and i'm going on the pump soon. any suggestions???

I'm visiting mine tomorrow. My control is ok too, although I'm not convinced that my basal insulin is correct so that's something I'm going to ask about. Also, get your 'numbers'. They'll probably talk about your Hba1c, but it's also handy to know your cholesterol (total, HDL and LDL), triglycerides and blood pressure to make sure that your diet is benefitting you.

Good luck!🙂

Hi

It went well. She told me there is a long waiting list for the pump:( but at least my name is down. she said all my results were good etc. my a1c was 5.8. I said i thought it would be higher as i got a goof few highs over xmas but she said my lows balanced the average out to get an a1c of 5.8. I must watch that. she also said im running a but tight sometimes with my levels - 5 and 6 she would consider tight! other than that all was well 🙂

I don't think that there should be waiting lists for the pump? I thought that if you qualified and your consultant agrees then then you ahve to get funding, not have to wait on a list.

As said before great A1c, Hope that you can balance it out with less highs and lows

im in ireland so maybe they do they it differently here. she said that they are not funding pumps for type 2 anymore and type 1's are more strict now -CUTBACKS!!
