Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I am aged 75 and diagnosed with type2 about a year ago!Changed diet and lost over a stone.about 13 1/2 stone at moment.Bought an accumeter to test blood sugar levels when I was first diagnosed but found I got a bit paranoid about the results.Started using it again about a month ago but not sure what my results show.I find first thing in the morning(pre taking even a drink) results are between 5.9 and 6.4.Midafternoon (After lunch) results 4.4 to 5.8.average readings all results 6.3!.Highest reading I have is 7.1.I am not due a revue at the Doctors till end of July.Worried I may not be on track.Would like to have a check up now but due to current situation impossible.Any advice!!

Those numbers look good to me!!

Excellent readings, no need to worry about those!

Welcome to the forum.

Looks good to me too.

Hello @robrave and welcome to the forum.
You look to be doing amazingly well, and that is an absolutely fantastic weight loss.
As others have said, your reading look fine.

I went into 'overkill' mode with my meter a while ago, and now only tend to use it for a morning reading. Also sometimes before and after meals if I am eating something different, and want to see the effect, - or if my morning readings go particularly high - but yours are good.
There is a forum string where several members record their morning readings, and if you have a look at this you will see the sort of ranges in reading that we get. Group 7-day waking average?

I hope you enjoy the forum. If you have a browse around you will find a wide range of topics being discussed.
Hopefully you may join in and help with some hints and tips on your amazing achievement with weight loss and getting your diabetes under control

Envious

PS. It's a firm very much OK for those BGs from me too, including the birthday cake.

Hello again @robrace
I take it that the birthday cake was for your own birthday! In which case a slightly belated Happy Birthday - It is most certainly that special day of the year when a piece of cake is definitely allowed :D

Welcome to the forum @robrace

Great levels, congratulations!

Hope your review comes through OK, and you get some reassurance, but it sounds like you are doing great 🙂
