sorry probably a silly question but I’m a bit disappointed with my ready of 7.2 this morning. I was 5.7 before I ate last night 5.8 before bed after a long walk and exercise video then 7.2 when I woke up, I didn’t sleep very well but I’m not sure that would make much difference. 7.2 is the lowest I’ve had since I’ve checked in the mornings Wednesday was 7.7 and Thursday 7.4. Maybe I’m expecting too much too soon?

Morning levels are the last to go down when you're getting your BG under control, according to the conventional wisdom. Something along the lines of insulin resistance being highest in the morning, and then you also get the pesky Dawn Phenomenon. See eg this: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetes/expert-answers/dawn-effect/faq-20057937 ... but don't stress about it. You're doing a great job of getting your levels under control, from the look of things, and your waking BG will come down over time.

Thank you that’s an interesting read. I get up for work at 5am so have been testing around then before breakfast at 6 I’ll leave it until after 8 tomorrow and see if there’s any difference

Left it until gone 8 this morning and it was 5.8 was 5.1 when I went to bed last night so I’m quite happy with that
