I always eat natural yogurt and berries for breakfast, this usually has a spike of around about 1, but sometimes 2 depending on the portion size. Today when I tested after 2 hrs as I suddenly felt tired, weak, my eyes hurt (hard to describe as not blurry), and felt incredibly hungry it had gone up from 11.1 to 16.6, as I work in an office and I am not exceptionally busy today, I sat at my desk and sipped water. It is now down to 13.8 but I still feel like I could sleep at my desk. Going to go for a walk with a friend at lunchbreak to see if that helps. But this tiredness and hunger are crazy how bad they are. Need to shrug it off before the drive home.

Are you supposed to call the doctor for advice in a situation like this? Should you even be driving do you think? I feel worried for you. :(

Thank you, after walk it is down to 12 and I am feeling better. Just hope I am not heading for another bug.

Blueberries and raspberries. Since walking at lunchtime and eating some lunch of pulled pork with veg I am feeling much better.

Obviously I'm not sure how much of each berry you have but blueberries are higher carb than raspberries, also I'm not 100% sure but I believe that with fruit the riper they are the more of an effect they may have so they may have been a little riper than usual or it just might be one of them things that happens due to other factors in everyday life, whatever it was I hope it was an isolated incident and your numbers continue to lower 🙂 x

Hi Ditto - just to let you know I improved during the afternoon, even though my numbers did not go as low as I had hoped. Eyes went back to normal and tiredness disappeared. So drive home was ok. I am touched that you were worried.

Lorraine...I'm no expert on diet...I have no problems with blueberries...raspberries...even the dreaded bananas...whereas others find they do spike their BGs...possibly just that...sometimes all about experimenting...as you say maybe the portion size...testing is the key...confusing...frustrating...absolutely...all about experimenting (my opinion) really...stress doesn't help...how to avoid that...wish I knew the answer...just keep testing...watching those results...I used to feel I'd never get the 'hang' of managing my food...activity...diabetes...keep going...you're doing all the right things...asking the right questions...are you keeping a food diary?...it will settle down...good luck.

It usually only spikes me by about 1 or 2 at max, although the raspberries were very ripe so maybe that caused the spike. Will test at 10am today as ate the same thing today.

Good thinking Lorrraine...will definitely give you some indication of whether you can tolerate it!...good luck.

17 after eating same breakfast today. Really strange that it hasn't always spiked me like that. Oh well back to the drawing board on breakfasts, but getting difficult as cereal spikes me, porridge spikes me, and I need something I can bring into work with me.

Hmmm I'm sure I saw you mention you like nuts in another thread, you could try topping your yoghurt with different chopped nuts although I notice from the waking average that you forgot to take your medication yesterday so it could also be something to do with that hun xx

That is true, the reading was actually only just over 3 higher than fasting and forgetting the meds. Yes I do love nuts so I will try that with my yogurt.

if you like them...I find walnuts & almonds are great to go with yoghurt...are you using the full fat yoghurt Lorraine?...likely better than the low fat ones...often include sugar to improve the taste.
