I think I am right in saying that there is somewhere on here a template for a complaint letter to your GP for when they don't give you enough strips. Would someone be kind enough to direct me to it?

My GP wrote on my prescription request 'done 10 Sept?', wouldn't release any, and ergo I am out of strips. And a bit cross.

As you are on gliclizide, you also have to be able to test, because you are prone to hypo and you must test before driving.

Well, we all got there in the end. Thanks everyone 🙂

Bear in mind I've not actually seen my doctor for any of this (only met the dude once). Would I be better off initially making an appointment with him, or the DN (at the same surgery), do you think?

I was really REALLY cross earlier but realise that in order to get the desired result I might need to calm down a little bit...!

Definitely the doctor! 🙂

I would see the doctor first and go from there. Good luck.

Thanks 🙂 Appointment is on Monday morning. If anyone hears of an explosion in North West London, that will be me losing my temper...

So, did anyone hear about that explosion in North West London?

That's because there wasn't one and the story has a happy ending 🙂

I went in all prepared with my advocacy pack and asked why my request had been refused. I explained that I had changed my diet since I'd last seen him, and that I felt empowered; and he printed off a prescription for 100 strips (rather than just 50).

When I got to the pharmacist, he said "You did it! You struck gold on a Monday morning".

And I do feel quite empowered 🙂
