Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi my name is Anne and I have been diagnosed with type two diabetes for a year now and am managing to keep my blood glucose under control with diet but last week I had my flu and swine flu jab and I have had a bad cold for six days during that time my B.G. has been higher than normal is anyone else getting the same symptoms??

hi Anne and welcome i have not had the swine flu jab yet but i did have my normaly influenza jab 1 and a half weeks ago and i would say for 2 days after that i started to get what felt like the symptoms of cold sneezing runny nose bad head , and i did notice a slight creep up of my levels from about the usual 7-9 going up to 11-12, now though it is back to usual rates.

Hi Anne, welcome to the forum🙂 Yes, people often find that their levels become elevated when ill. It may be that your cold was nothing to do with your jabs, but it could have been! I haven't had mine yet, but I did notice a slight elevation last year after having the seasonal jab. Keep an eye on your levels and you should be OK.
