I wonder if anyone can help. I have been told that cofree with double cream is a good fat. Is that correct? Is it regular double cream? I usually have black coffee but am open to try anything.😛

Dairy pushed my cholesterol up. I have a splash of skimmed milk in mine.

Well it must be saturated fat bearing in mind I've got into trouble already for saying cheese is really useful, tasty and versatile and so cream must be equally bad for us (bearing in mind we're all about to drop dead anyway according to some folk on here) but to be perfectly honest if I'm going to have double cream I'd rather have it with the jam on that scone! LOL

In terms of what is considered a 'good' fat - well, no it isn't one, cos the 'good' uns, the poly-unsaturated ones are things like veg and nut oils. (It's all kinda batty though - I mean after all, what do animals make their fat from? Grass! LOL)

Exactly.
Grass, - they don't eat saturated fats to live healthily.
In fact, as you say, grass fed animals are allegedly even the best ones to eat, if you choose to do that down the foodchain.

I'm with you on the scone and jam too.

cream is a way to increase fat intake to provide fuel when cutting right down on carbs - after years of low carb some people just can't contemplate fatty foods, so a splodge of cream in coffee can be a good way to make the change over.

Double cream has less carbs than milk. You are already drinking black coffee, don't spoil the low carb with sugar, use sweetener tablets.
Ta for that - never have sugar... but will give the coffee and cream a go I only have one cup of coffee a day:D

Just thought I would give it go and see what it tastes like, no other reason really.🙂

Why spoil a good coffee, drink it black if its your preference

I normally have my coffee black, but now and then I have it with a square of 90% cocoa chocolate disolved in it with a little double cream on top. Rather a nice treat!
