Coffee and blood sugar

Thanks all for your helpful exchange. I try to take the medical/scientific advice so I was interested in a comment on Dr Michael Mosely's recent 15 min podcast on caffeine - basically saying that caffeine MAY mess with SOME peoples blood sugar and suggesting a moderate daily limit (think it was c.5 cups of coffee/equivalent). I then searched for info - a Mayo Clinic article suggested possible individual responses to caffeine so test yourself before and after caffeine. So I have just done my own fasting test this morning - black coffee and a blood sugar test before and an hour-ish after my first coffee. The results were 5.8 and then 5.6 an hour-ish later. So no material change from black coffee for me.
