Christmas Dinner?

Mine was a scallop and prawn in lobster bisque starter, followed by Turkey, beef and gammon with Roast Potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts , carrots and peas and rounded off with a big slice of my homemade Christmas pud with clotted cream. All washed down with a couple of glasses of fizz. BG was 5.2 before and 6.8 2 hours after.View attachment 33198
I gave the diabetes fairy the evening off and grazed on the beige buffet and a few spiced rums so my levels went a bit higher than usual but all within range again this morning.

What is beige in your Christmas buffet?
I find it to be a colourful time of year with fancy bread, various quiches, fruity Christmas cake, etc.

Well done! Can I ask if it is normal for BG to be lower after a meal? I'm fairly new to this, it used to happen to me after eating certain foods, like a banana, not too low but like yours (I'm not on insulin)

This was quite some time after eating. It's fairly common for me to be between 4-5.6 in the afternoons some hours after lunch.

Only the sausage rolls and pork pies , the rest was more colourful .

Had some lovely pigs in blankets from Sainsbury's that were on Nectar price, not all shop bought ones are tasteless or of poor quality.

We had starter of prawn cocktail then main meal of turkey & lamb, managed to cook them both to perfection. Had small amount of christmas pudding cheese cake ice cream afterwards then tidied up then went for hour walk with dog.

On night we had cheese & biscuits, my fav part of christmas day washed down with few glasses of red.
