The problem of the Christmas Cake
I love it, but do I eat it every day so that I remove temptation sooner than otherwise
Or
Eat it rarely so it last much longer (assuming I can keep OH away from it)
Such a lovely things to ponder, while I eat my small slice of cake with a bit of wenslydale
That is something Inlearnt from my Father-in-law

Eat it everyday then you will get sick of the sight and taste of it 🙂 ........... Until next year.

My Mum always makes a large beautiful Christmas cake and shares it out amongst the family. This year, she made it in October and fed it with brandy to “keep it moist” until she marzipanned it (with home made marzipan) this month.
Then, my parents ended up in tier 4 thanks to the new c19 strain. So, currently, I have no Christmas cake conundrum. Hopefully, my Mum can keep my Dad away from our portion and I get to pick it up on the new year. At least it keeps (if no one eats it), especially with all that brandy Mum put in it.

Keep it for when bg going low, not hypo or as treat. Bought some stollen bites last week, had one xmas morning when seeing downward arrow on libre before walk, had another last night after tea for no other reason that fancied one, still few left to get thru but get thru I will.
