Do hope everyone's in a good place and at least smiling.
I just had my cholesterol blood test results and was pleasantly surprised. As someone who has had to tightly regulate all foods for 30 odd years and then find to have pre diabetes and changing my diet again. It has not been easy. ..like a constant battle.
I now eat almost a Keto diet with cheese and eggs in my daily intake. I was concerned about cholesterol because we have been brainwashed into thinking so negatively about eggs and fats. But hey ho! My levels were down to 4.5 what ever that means from borderline 5.00. All I did was cut out carbs and increase fats. Saying that I don't go overboard but I do eat much more of the fats. Best pleased.

I'm afraid that for many people the results are similar.
The information about cholesterol seems to be entirely wrong - how it has been overlooked for so long is both a puzzle and a concern.

The scientific data was not apparent when the cholesterol fears were installed.

Even the lipid profile for those of use for whom low carb increases LDL, is better than before in most cases. It certainly is better in mine, but the raised LDL still catches the attention of Doctors wanting to push Statins!

I guess we all find a theory that works for us.
The internet has someone out there for everyone.
Me, I go for the NHS.
But, if you find an answer that suits you, it's all good.
Many people push the benefits of cholesterol.

My cholesterol levels came down when I upped my good fats and lowered my carbs .That is fact ,not a scientific theory and it has stayed that way for 12 years despite old age and poverty !!!

I'm the same. Since going low carb but eating lots of cheese and cream and fatty meat and olive oil etc, my cholesterol is steadily reducing from 5.2 at diagnosis 2.5 years ago to 4.5 at last test in June.

Choose a number you are happy with.

Mine is less then 4 at the moment.
Low fat brought it down from a the high numbers that I wasn't happy with.
All my numbers are well within the NHS guidelines, obviously my ratios are therefor good.
It's all about personal choice, and after being non diabetic with good cholesterol for seven years on a low fat diet normal carb, I won't look back for a minute.
