Hi, just a quick one

Do any of you dose differently for chocolate than you would for any other food?
I was wondering if you would need to dose differently because of the fat content?

Kind of like if you find you need to split bolus for pizza etc..

I may be on totally the wrong track here so do correct me if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

we never have-but H only eats the occasional kitkat chunky now and again and after a meal-I guess the more experienced peeps do- having just read the cearel thread im wondering why ready brek[ honey flavour] doesnt send him sky high

Was wondering as I had a cheeky fruit and nut bar (small one line ones not big ones!) with my lunch and bolused as normal for it.

Most chocolate seems to behave with an 'all up front, wait a bit' approach for me.

Not something I do very often as I find the frustration of getting it wrong (or simply worrying about getting it wrong) robs me of the pleasure of most carby snacks.

i find chocoalte is as hard to bous for as fruit - ie it gets into your system before the insulin and leaves before the insulin is finished. so causes awful yo-yo ing for me.

I don't tend to eat much chocolate but when I do, I just bolus as normal - ie immediately when I'm eating (note I'm on a pump, MDI folk will possibly bolus and leave a while before eating)
