Hubby wants a chinese tonight. Whereas before i would order sweet & sour chicken, today I'm looking to order a low carb meal. So opted for roast chicken & beansprouts in a thin gravy.
Anyone have any idea roughly, on how many carbs is in that. Tried looking on website but can't get no info. Just a rough estimate will do.
I've been good all week. No hypos & only one very high reading at 17, but think for some reason my body didn't absorb my insulin.
Many thanks.
Xx

Mung bean sprouts have 6g carb to 100g weight. You'd have to know the recipe for everything else OR ask the restaurant. Looks like a mega low carb choice to me. If you prepared roast chicken at home - that's entirely carb free, presumably 'thin gravy' is carb free too, I dunno cos we never have thin gravy. What is it, just stock?

Have you got the Carbs and Cals book or app @Sugarcoated? I’m pretty sure there are Chinese takeaways in there. I usually have pork and cashews, or beef and mushrooms, something like that. Everything else is bursting at the seams with sugar, aaaargh! :D

Sorry to hear you had a high reading after trying to make a lower-carb choice @Sugarcoated :(

You were right to avoid the sweet and sour for sure! But unfortunately, yes... lots of dishes to seem to have added sugar to suit the UK palate :(

When we have a chinese, I tend to ensure I dose for at least 30% more carbs than I think I am eating!

Best of luck with your next experiment. 😛
