An update 1 week on. Not too bad a week, had a few “treats” but have knuckled down to being more focused at least till last night when out with friends for tea.
Still not exercising but not beating myself up.
BG coming down at times

Plan for this week.

Cook meals for 2 days x2
Eat more vegetables (they are in house but not getting in the pan) by time I get home from work I am a bit tired to cook so see above
Carry on with pack lunches
Keep smiling
Keep up food diary

Grateful for any other suggestions
Do you have a slow cooker Carol? They are ideal for busy people. You can make chilli, stews ( loads of veg) even soup. Just bung it all in, I freeze loads of my meals, a chilli or bolognaise I split into three, two for freezer. Try @Jeandp suggestion re cauli rice, it really is a good substitute. I cook it to personal taste, and than whazz in my processor. I make shepherds/ cottage pie with a mashed carrot and swede topping. Maybe you could put aside a half day on the weekend and do a batch cook, it’s the only way for me. If I dither about what to have for tea I will end up having the wrong things. Luckily I do like to cook so don’t find it a chore, should I send you some food parcels? 😉 X

Hi Elaine. Thanks. I gave away my big slow cooker but do have a little one and a soup maker so make a three portion batch of soup which does me lunch, tea and lunch. I used to batch cook and plan to do the ketochicken recipe tomorrow and share with my son. I bought caulrice once and never got round to using it but have a cauliflower in fridge so might try tonight. Just need to get more organised. Made my first pot of soup and making a misteroni pot to use up veggies then freeze. (It went in bin as I put a tin of black eyed peas in it then read label which said do not reheat, but don’t know why not)Food parcels sound fabby though lol

Hi Carolg, I know exactly where you are coming from. I am very similar and have been very naughty over Christmas, so much so that I found I just didn't have time to test my BS, never mind exercise hahaha.

A couple of ideas. Why not exercise indoors? I do running on the spot. At a regular pace counting up to 70, then as fast as I can up to 200. And repeat (if you can) And chilli, without rice?! is that even allowed? No, why not make it with cauli rice? It might sound weird but trust me it is really nice.

If all else fails
Keep smiling 🙂🙂
thanks. I have a twist and shape machine in the bedroom, with trainers in situ, used thrice in a month. Could try running on the spot. I am a lazy exerciser by nature. Will charge up my cheapy fit bit and keep an eye on steps as well. My smile turns to a frown when thinking of exercise. Change of mind set needed

Made the keto pesto chicken with broccoli, asparagus and minted peas. Oh wow, so nice and 4 good portions, so both mine and sons tea for tomorrow. Managed 8410 steps with an extra walk to shop. Son has long legs so
I felt a wee gallop going on.
Hope everyone is well and warm

Good luck Carol. I'm sure you will be fine. Sounds like you have a great plan to get back on track. It does need a lot of motivation to keep on top of things though doesn't it!
