Mate a celeriac gratin for dinner last night. Absolutely gorgeous! Wouldn't believe it wasn't made with potatoes. Went lovely with sausages & peas.🙂

Must give that one a go once home :D

I don't think I have ever had celeriac! You're very inventive Mark! 🙂
Celeriac is the closest veg to a potato replacement I've found. Big ugly looking things. Make great chips too.

I tried celeriac for the first time yesterday, mashing some with butter to go with veggie sausages & onion. It was good, though could have done with more boiling. Still, the resulting readings were:
before meal: 4.8
1 hr after: 6.1
2 hrs after: 6.0

I liked the slightly nutty taste, and I think I'll try roasting it. Sure is hard to cut through, though.

It is a hard bugger to cut through. They do need quite a bit of cooking, though they can suddenly go too soft, so timing is key.

Ooo, I haven't tried it as chips. Ta for the idea, Mark.😛

Made the gratin for lunch. Was lovely.

Celeriac soup is one of my faves. Recp can be found online from the Covent Garden soup recipies

Now that I must try.
