Today is weighing day and I so don't want to lose any more weight- BMI and weight all healthy weight. I think I took the whole diabetic eating thing a bit too far and although the weight loss was approx a stone and a half from July. I didn't want any more loss, I just feel so skinny and was very uncomfortable with people's comments on how thin I am. Was advised to increase my avocado and nut allowance. I did this and can now happily report a 2lb increase. Hooray...🙂🙂A few more pounds and that will be fine for me.

Great to hear Sharron 🙂
Thanks for your good wishes. Now off to munch on some more protein weight gaining almonds. How ridiculous to be so excited by this gain, but there you go. 😉🙄

Well done Sharron 🙂.

Hi Sharron,
Its similar here, was already borderline underweight and cutting carbs made me lose a stone. Snacking on almonds and sometimes 2 digestive biscuits with full fat cottage cheese, seems to have halted the downward trend. Good luck to you in maintaining a healthy weight.

Hi,

Thank you for your email, I snack (well more than that) almonds, avocados and also full fat cottage cheese, and yogurt. If that is what it takes I am going with it. While I am not (yet) underweight - BMI healthy etc. I am not too keen on losing anymore weight. I usually have the cottage cheese with oat cakes few carbs than digestives but I will give it a go and see what happens. I am still ok with porridge at breakfast - tested a while ago and it was 7.8 - which from my reading of the numbers is ok. Good luck with the weight, as you say halting the downward trend is the goal.:D

gone to check out oatcakes v digestives ....
Nains fine milled oatcakes-in a yellow edged box. I eat them with avocado , peanut butter and cheese - all yummy.Next worry, hope I won't overdo the yummy foods and told to lose a few pounds. My luck that is what will happen. Like yourself, l think the reduction in carbs made a stone fall away.😱

The extra exercise probably helped with that as well.
Digestives appear to have 2g on average more carbs than oatcakes, since a portion is usually 2 biscuits am not going to worry about it. The main difference is in the taste, while I find oatcakes acceptable with mature cheddar, stilton, etc, cottage cheese does not cover, or compliment the oatcake flavour sufficiently. Digestives with full fat cottage cheese, (buy mine from sainsbury, nice and creamy ) now thats a little treat.

While I didn't intend to lose weight, am actually happy with the "new" me. Lost that irritating little pad of fat on my tummy - now, if my jeans would just stay up all would be perfect!

  • Please you are making me laugh... I think I am getting more comfortable with new me, may be I am just used to it.I am quite shy and do the endless comments about the weight loss did do my head in...😱 It could be because I was so self conscious about it all Still time to eat more almonds...😛🙂

People are simply not used to seeing weightloss or thinner body shapes - and of course people seem to think that they can make personal remarks to perfect strangers these days.

Ah, thank you so much. You are so correct about people and their unsolicited remarks... still I am now getting better at dealing (or rather) ignoring it. a tad bothered with myself for letting it get to me. I suspect it was the diagnosis, the Carpal Tunnel S and the dodgy knees all at the same time, trying to make sense of it! Needless to say it is impossible to make sense of it all, simply deal with it slowly and surely... I am much better at it now.🙄
