Just for info, Sainsbury now doing bags of it in their chilled veg section. £1.20 or £1.50 a bag cant quite remember 'cos I bought mine reduced to 99p and enough for 2 meals for me in it.

Good call! Great for a quick meal.

I tried making my own, but despite it testing ok, it made my curry very watery. Probably needed frying to dry it out.

Yeah a bit of olive oil and loads of spices (for me anyway) is the way to go. Only needs a few minutes quick stir fry and it's fab

I don't stir mine initially Riri - I let the underside go brown and then mix it all together. Gives it a lovely taste.

I'll try it that way next time as the more flavour the better. This probably gives it a hint of nuttyness - nice

I like the sound of that one Amigo - will give that a go next time.

Asda again doing this at £1, They had the normal, Mediterranean and Indian versions today.

Thanks for the heads up.🙂

I got 4 cheap caulies in Tesco today and made about 10 x 180 gm servings which I've frozen. Instructions for cooking were to spread it out on a flat baking tray, drizzle lightly with olive oil and oven bake for 12 minutes at 200, fluffing it up half way through roasting. It said you can add things like cumin, chilli and coriander powder before cooking, for variety. I tried it tonight and was pleasantly surprised. It was more like cous cous than rice.

I make my own now and only microwave it for 2 minutes and eat with whatever I'm having to go with.
Tried the different flavours and blurgh not for me well not the ones in the packets that's for sure, but if you like then go for it.

I mix cauli rice with grated cheese and a couple of eggs, put a heaped tablespoon of the mixture on greased baking paper and bake for about 20 mins. It makes a delicious hash brown substitute. Makes about 12. I use 2 in the morning with a slice of bacon and a tinned tomato, just microwave for 50 seconds for a quick and easy low carb breakfast. Yummy.

I do like the sound of your 'hash browns', Jean. Do you use the whole head of a cauliflower per 2 eggs? I fancy trying them but want to get the consistency right.

I like the sound of them as well but have no idea of the quantities of ingredients. Could you be more specific, please, Jeandp?

Depends on the size of the cauliflower. Here in Spain they are massive! I use half a cauliflower. I don't weigh anything. I have made them a few times, they always turn out delicious!

I will give it a try with a regular sized cauli then as they are not so large here. Cheers for the idea.
