Hi guys, I've just joined as my father in law has just been diagnosed with type 1. He had a stroke last year aswell which now affects his short term memory so we are having to basically take on the care of his diabetes. It's so much to take on so I'm in the process of doing lots of research x

Hi @T81 and welcome to the forum. I'll tag @everydayupsanddowns and suggest he moves your post to its own thread to help make members in circumstances like yours see it.

Hi T81. Welcome to the forum. You have posted at the bottom of another thread so you are a bit hidden. Suggest you repost in the newbies area. This is regularly checked and you will get lots of help and response from there.

Welcome to the forum @T81

Sorry to hear about your father in law’s diagnosis. That must make things difficult for you all with the stroke recovery and memory problems. Does he live with you? Are there any things in his diabetes management which are particularly difficult to manage? How about hypos?

@Docb has lots of experience with the systems that can support carers, so may be able to help you find local resources in your area.
